Incheon City is leveraging its global Korean business network to facilitate the entry of local SMEs into the Chinese market and to explore new sales channels.
From October 8 to 11, Incheon will participate in the '30th World Korean Businessmen Conference' held in Shenzhen, China. The city has announced plans to operate a 'Joint Exhibition Hall of Incheon Companies' in collaboration with Incheon Technopark and the Food Industry Promotion Support Center, featuring 25 promising Incheon firms.
This major economic exchange event, hosted by the World Federation of Korean Business Associations (World-OKTA), will see participation from domestic and international companies, local governments, and related institutions. The event is expected to attract around 6,000 visitors, including 400 companies, 300 local buyers, and over 1,000 World-OKTA member buyers.
With a memorandum of understanding on economic exchange already established with World-OKTA, Incheon City aims to showcase the excellent products and technological prowess of regional businesses on a global stage through this joint exhibition.
The participating companies encompass 10 from the beauty sector, 10 from various fields, and 5 from the food industry, totaling 25 firms. With growing global interest in K-beauty and K-food, the city anticipates that this exhibition will serve as a catalyst for enhanced brand recognition and the establishment of new sales channels for local businesses.
Additionally, during the event, Incheon will promote the '2025-2026 Year of Incheon Visits by Overseas Koreans,' disseminating key policies through the Overseas Korean Welcome Center and strengthening global human networks to expand sustainable cooperation.
Kim Young-shin, the Director of International Cooperation in Incheon, remarked, "This conference provides a valuable opportunity to enhance the visibility of Incheon companies among 7 million overseas Korean businesspeople while generating tangible business outcomes. We will spare no effort in supporting participating companies to enhance their global competitiveness and diversify their export channels."
