Beauty Selection, a global skincare brand operating under the name Biodance, announced the appointment of Lee Sang-hoon as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Shin Geon-sik as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), alongside the induction of Andrew Stanleick as an Advisory Board Member as of October 7.
This staffing initiative is part of the company’s strategy to expand its global operations, ensuring it has a management structure suited to its growth. Following the onboarding of Park Eun-joon as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in September of last year, Beauty Selection has established dedicated C-level positions for its operational and business sectors. The inclusion of a global advisory function also enhances its strategy for the North American and European markets. Revenue is projected to surpass 500 billion KRW this year, building on last year's approximately 250 billion KRW and continuing an average annual growth rate of over two-fold post-2023.
Lee Sang-hoon, who joined as COO in September, oversees overall operations, including production, supply chain management (SCM), and quality assurance. With over 25 years of experience in ODM, brand marketing, sales, and SCM within the cosmetics industry, he previously held the position of Executive Director of Sales at Korean Kolmar, managing ODM sales for 12 years. He later served as CEO and COO of Carver Korea, driving the brand growth of AHC both domestically and internationally. His expertise is expected to stabilize the supply chain and enhance quality management in response to increasing global demand.
Shin Geon-sik, appointed CCO in September, manages the global business sector. Recently, he was the head of the Japanese operations and overseas sales at the Founders Company, where he drove the international expansion of Anua. With over a decade at Procter & Gamble, focusing on consumer insights, strategy, and sales, he transitioned to lead business development at a startup. His role is expected to accelerate growth in specific markets through strategic collaborations with key global retailers by generating demand through online channels and marketing efforts.
Andrew Stanleick’s role as Advisory Board Member involves consulting on strategies for North America and Europe. He has held various leadership roles in major beauty companies such as L'Oréal, Coty, and Kenview, and most recently served as the President of Kenview’s Skin Health and Beauty for North America and EMEA. Previously, he was the CEO of Beauty Health (HydraFacial), and held the position of President at Coty Americas, in addition to being the global CEO for both Kylie Jenner Beauty and Kim Kardashian Beauty. His experience is expected to refine brand positioning and retail expansion strategies in North America and Europe, bolstering the company’s global advisory capabilities.
Park Eun-joon, the CFO who joined in September last year, oversees all financial affairs. Having served as VP at Goldman Sachs in investment banking, he led retail FP&A during Coupang's high growth phase and has managed varied investments across industries, including consumer goods, as Managing Director at Eastbridge Partners for six years.
Park Jae-bin, the representative director of Beauty Selection, stated, "By bringing in leaders responsible for both business and operations in line with our global expansion strategy and adding advisory expertise with multinational market experience, we aim to maintain the rapid growth trajectory since our inception while establishing operational standards and levels required of a global brand." He further added that integrating AI into the management framework will elevate decision-making and execution speed, aiming to position Beauty Selection as one of the fastest-moving beauty companies globally.
