The Korean Cosmetics Industry Research Institute, led by Director Cho Shin-haeng, is set to host a seminar titled '2026 Skin Character Information Bank Results Seminar' on November 20 at the SpaceShare Gangnam Center in Seoul. This event will gather domestic cosmetics companies, research institutions, and industry stakeholders.
During the seminar, the institute will present findings from consumer surveys conducted this year in the Philippines regarding skin characteristics and cosmetics usage behaviors. Additionally, trends in the Brazilian beauty market will be discussed, showcasing the capabilities and functionalities of the newly established Skin Character Information Provision Platform (SGIP).
The seminar will first reveal skin characteristic measurement results gathered from 500 female consumers aged 20 to 50 in the Philippines, focusing on various skin attributes such as moisture, sebum production, pore size, pH levels, elasticity, wrinkles, brightness, and color. It will also include research on lifestyle habits, skin condition perceptions, skincare behaviors, and purchasing behaviors related to skincare and color cosmetics, as well as body and hair products.
The seminar will further highlight the beauty market trends in Brazil, one of the key markets in Latin America. A survey of 1,000 respondents, including 600 women and 400 men, will provide insights into cosmetics usage habits, supplemented by interviews with local beauty experts to gauge consumer needs and market dynamics. Insights will be drawn regarding Brazilian consumers' primary interests and the characteristics of the beauty market, offering implications for Korean cosmetics companies looking to enter this market.
To enhance the accessibility and usability of the collected skin characteristic data, the SGIP will be introduced. Participants will learn how to access and utilize the wealth of domestic and international skin characteristic information accumulated by the institute.
A representative from the institute stated, “This seminar is an opportunity to share research findings on foreign consumers' skin characteristics and cosmetics usage behaviors, as well as trends in local beauty markets with the industry. We will continuously provide practical information that domestic cosmetics companies can leverage to develop products based on consumer characteristics and prepare for entry into overseas markets.”
The seminar is free for all cosmetics companies, research institutions, and industry stakeholders. Interested participants can register through the Allcos Cosmetics Industry Information Portal by selecting '2026 Skin Character Information Bank Results Seminar.'
