Cynosure Lutronic, a global leader in medical aesthetics based in the United States, recently announced the successful hosting of large-scale conferences for local medical professionals in North America and Europe.

The conferences aimed to share the latest clinical results of the monopolar radiofrequency (RF) device, XERF, and to promote professional exchanges among medical practitioners from various countries. XERF has been rapidly establishing its presence in major markets, having achieved global sales of 3,000 units as of September.

Held in San Diego, California, the Cynosure Lutronic Academy attracted over 530 participants from 245 organizations across South Korea, North America (the U.S., Canada, and Mexico), indicating a high level of interest, as pre-registration closed early.

A notable feature of the event was the first-ever XERF Masterclass held in North America, designed for practitioners experienced in XERF procedures. This specialized training program delved deep into advanced procedural techniques and combination treatment protocols. Dr. Macrene Alexiades, a dermatologist from New York, led the session, which addressed the clinical results and treatment expertise related to XERF.

Presentations by South Korean medical professionals also garnered attention. Dr. Do-Young Lee from Hill House Dermatology introduced the latest trends in Korean aesthetic medicine and its distinct treatment philosophies with the topic 'Defining K-Beauty Standards.' He explained that the paradigm of aesthetic medicine is shifting from merely improving wrinkles or altering facial contours to also pursuing the inherent health and natural beauty of the skin. He emphasized a strategic approach to combination therapies that organically integrates various energy-based medical devices (EBD), skin boosters, injection treatments, and collagen stimulators, including XERF.

A panel discussion followed, focused on the combination treatment 'K-LUXE,' which blends XERF with the laser device LaseMD Ultra. Medical professionals from Korea and North America engaged in discussions surrounding K-beauty-based treatment methods.

In Barcelona, Spain, the EMEA Laser and Science Symposium 2026 was held, coinciding with the official launch event for XERF in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. Approximately 300 medical practitioners attended the event, including representatives from Russia, Italy, Germany, Spain, the UK, and the Middle East. XERF has recently received certification under the EU Medical Device Regulation (EU MDR) for nonsurgical skin aesthetic treatments.

During the event, Nikhil Nathwani, Vice President of EMEA, officially introduced XERF and presented on a variety of topics, including clinical results of XERF treatments on patients receiving GLP-1 weight management therapies, based on his clinical experiences. He also presented findings from the 'Skinsights 2026' survey, which highlighted patient demand in the local area. In Korea, Dr. Soo-Il Jeon from Jeon Dermatology participated as a speaker, sharing the treatment protocols for XERF through panel discussions and live procedure sessions.

A Cynosure Lutronic representative stated, “The successful conferences in North America and Europe confirmed that XERF is rapidly gaining the trust of medical professionals in key global markets. Given the high interest in the treatment philosophies and expertise of South Korean practitioners, we will continue to create opportunities for exchange between South Korean and global medical professionals.”
