Lee Min-mi, the founder of Korea's first gender-neutral makeup brand Laka, has teamed up with top beauty creator Min-sko to launch a new makeup brand named Nunflash. The initiative was announced by Another Layer, led by CEO Moon Hyung-rak, who has established a new company, Nunflash Inc., with plans for a 2027 launch.

The collaboration between these two key figures in the K-beauty sector is notable for their individual contributions to the color cosmetics field. Lee Min-mi, who will serve as the Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of Nunflash, has a proven track record in branding, having successfully led Laka for seven years and achieved a notable exit. Since its inception in 2018, Laka has been acknowledged for challenging conventional norms with its philosophy that 'color belongs to everyone'—a vision that is expected to drive the new brand.

Min-sko, the Chief Product Officer (CPO) from Lepery, brings significant influence and expertise as a veteran beauty creator with a solid fan base. Having collaborated closely with major domestic brands, she has demonstrated exceptional expertise in color cosmetics and commerce. Her extensive experience has allowed her to amass invaluable consumer insights that will prioritize quality in the upcoming product lineup.

The launch of Nunflash intends to fully internalize the market impact of beauty creators, combining this with Lee Min-mi's refined branding skills. This approach seeks to transcend the limitations often seen in influencer-driven brands, aiming to establish a sustainable beauty brand grounded in strong philosophy and self-sufficiency.

Operational management will be overseen by Another Layer’s CEO Moon Hyung-rak, ensuring robust financial and organizational stability. The company, positioned as a brand nexus group, provides practical know-how and investment to early-stage founders while managing in-house brands, supporting the capabilities of both founders in the market.

Jeeun Lee, who manages Nunflash's brand operations, mentioned, “Creating a brand that deeply resonates with consumers based on a clear philosophy and verified product potency is our ultimate goal.” She noted that while the launch is targeted for 2027, the priority remains on delivering a highly refined brand identity and superior products before presenting the first collection.

In addition, Nunflash has launched its official Instagram account (@nunflash) to run a pre-teasing campaign, documenting the brand's aesthetic aspirations leading up to the official launch. Lee Min-mi emphasized that this campaign is more than just a launch announcement; it aims to share a visual archive that inspires beauty fans, makeup artists, and all who appreciate beauty. This creative journey, starting months before the launch, will reflect the brand's philosophy and ethos as a makeup house.
