LG Household & Health Care has reported its Q3 revenue for 2026 at 1.5774 trillion KRW, reflecting a slight decrease of 0.2% compared to the same period last year. Operating profit saw substantial growth, reaching 70.4 billion KRW, a 52.4% increase, highlighted by a significant reduction in the deficit of its beauty segment.
The company announced these provisional results on the 3rd via the electronic disclosure system. Following the sale of its North American subsidiary, The Avon Company, the performance of this entity will no longer be included from September onwards. Despite this, Q3 revenue remained stable, suggesting gradual improvements driven by premium products based on scientific research, which are expanding customer touchpoints in the global market.
In terms of overseas sales, the company reported a 12.5% decline to 432.3 billion KRW compared to the same period last year. Regionally, North America reported revenues of 135.5 billion KRW, and China saw 115.1 billion KRW, marking decreases of 12.5% and 21.1% respectively. North American sales were affected by the Avon sale, but without this factor, there was an increase of about 5%. Notably, Dr. Groot, the company's leading brand, continues to see robust demand from both retail and digital channels.
Sales in the Beauty segment for Q3 totaled 660.8 billion KRW, a minor decrease of 0.3% year-on-year, with operating profit significantly improved to a loss of 10.9 billion KRW. The increase in duty-free sales contributed to the growth turnaround for The History of Whoo, while major brands like Dr. Groot, Dominus, You See Mall, and VDL continued to show strong growth. Improvements in profitability are also attributed to the recovery in duty-free channels and ongoing efficiency enhancements in offline retail spaces, including department stores and discount shops.
In Q3, LG Household & Health Care is further enhancing its product competitiveness through its top-tier R&D capabilities, positioning itself as a "Science Driven Beauty & Wellness Company." The luxury cosmetic brand, The History of Whoo, hosted a global event to share its Skin Longevity technology related to its Bi-Cheop NAD Power Ampoule, while the oral beauty brand You See Mall launched its Whitening Purple Corrector Serum Toothpaste, innovating in trends.
The company is also focused on strengthening brand presence in foreign markets. In August, Dr. Groot entered over 400 offline locations at the premium beauty retailer Sephora in the U.S., and in September, it participated in the K-Expo in Mexico alongside The Face Shop to explore opportunities in the Latin American market.
For the Home Care and Daily Beauty (HDB) segment, Q3 revenue was 419.2 billion KRW, an increase of 3.8% year-over-year, although operating profit fell by 3.1% to 31.0 billion KRW. While sales rose across major online and offline channels, the increased marketing investments for nurturing Hero products and enhancing brand competitiveness led to a drop in operating profit. Products like the "Fiji Moraxella," which specializes in strong cleaning power for odor removal, maintained the top spot for three consecutive months in the laundry detergent sector on Coupang, alongside successful entries from brands like 46cm (body care) and Homestar (home products).
LG Household & Health Care is leveraging differentiated products that reflect diverse customer needs and trends to solidify its market position. On the Body Care brand, The Body Shop introduced a summer limited edition foot wash with a watermelon scent, while the premium hair cosmetic brand Elastine launched a new line, "Elastine Cuticals Blue Peptide," specializing in scalp and hair elasticity management.
In the Refreshment segment, Q3 revenue reached 497.4 billion KRW, with operating profit falling by 19.9% year-on-year to 50.3 billion KRW. Continuous declines in beverage demand, rising raw material costs, and intensified promotional competition led to decreases in both revenue and operating profit.
Coca-Cola is expanding customer touchpoints through steady new product launches and marketing activities. In Q3, it released "Coca-Cola Zero Lemon Lime" featuring a natural lemon-lime flavor and renewed "Sprite New Zero," enhancing taste. Monster Energy, as an official sponsor of the 2026 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival, is also rolling out various promotional activities.
An LG Household & Health Care representative stated, "We are focusing on nurturing strategic brands based on differentiated product competitiveness driven by scientific research and expanding new growth opportunities in global markets. While there may be short-term fluctuations in performance due to portfolio restructuring, we are committed to building a long-term growth foundation through continuous product innovation and strengthening business competitiveness."
Additionally, LG Household & Health Care held a board meeting on the same day, resolving to acquire the remaining 25% stake in its subsidiary Viva Wave, which operates the color cosmetics brand Hince. This decision follows a share buyback right (call option) set during the 2023 acquisition, positioning LG Household & Health Care to secure 100% ownership of Viva Wave, with plans to support Hince's unique brand identity and originality for mid- to long-term growth and global expansion.
