Amoorepacific's established dermacosmetic brand Astra is set to launch its latest product, the Atobarrier365 Lip Barrier Balm, in November. This product targets the needs of dry and sensitive lips.
The skin on the lips is thinner than that on the face and lacks sebaceous and sweat glands, making it vulnerable to moisture loss and external irritants. Recognizing these characteristics, Astra has extended the barrier care expertise of the Atobarrier365 line to lip care, focusing on soothing sensitive skin, enhancing the barrier, and providing intensive moisture.
The Atobarrier365 Lip Barrier Balm contains high-density ceramide capsules and 5% panthenol to strengthen the weakened lip barrier. A plant-based lanolin complex and shea butter create an adherent moisturizing film to maintain hydration. Allantoin and potassium glycyrrhizinate are included to soothe lips that have become sensitive due to dryness.
The efficacy of the moisturizing and barrier-improving effects has been confirmed through human testing. Immediately after use, moisture levels in the lips increased by 87.5%, and the damaged lip barrier was improved by 81%. After seven days of use, the amount of lip flakes decreased by 93.3%. In tests involving sensitive lips, four weeks of use demonstrated a maximum reduction of 60.6% in lip cracking due to dryness.
The product has completed various dermatological safety tests, including extreme sensitivity tests, and hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic assessments.
An Astra representative stated, “The Atobarrier365 Lip Barrier Balm extends Astra's barrier care expertise, which has been built for sensitive skin, to lip care. We will continue to offer professional dermatological solutions based on in-depth research into skin concerns.”
