AMUSE, a K-beauty brand, is making significant strides in the U.S. beauty market by securing large distribution channels. On September 6, AMUSE will launch across 85 locations of the premium department store Nordstrom, followed by an official entry into 611 Target stores on September 10. By aligning with these distinct retail channels, AMUSE establishes a foundation to target a broad consumer base, from premium department store shoppers to mass retail consumers.

The American beauty market is experiencing explosive growth for K-beauty. According to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety’s statistics, the U.S. ranks as the largest export destination for South Korean cosmetics, achieving approximately $2.2 billion in export value.

The decision for AMUSE to enter Target reflects the changing trends within the U.S. beauty market and the brand's growth potential. Notably, the partnership signifies recognition of AMUSE’s competitiveness and growth capacity by a major U.S. retailer. Discussions on the launch began two years ago, culminating in this milestone, which was marked by visits from Target's executives to AMUSE’s headquarters last year for detailed reviews and discussions.

Target operates around 2,000 stores nationwide, encompassing various categories including food, lifestyle, fashion, and beauty. It is recognized as a key channel for U.S. beauty trends, particularly among younger consumers.

Through Target's newly introduced 'Target Beauty Studio', AMUSE aims to broaden its engagement with local consumers. The Target Beauty Studio will feature both premium and emerging beauty brands, operating in over 600 stores and online.

AMUSE plans to showcase a total of 68 SKUs, including flagship products like 'Dew Tint' and 'Banana Lip Oil'. The strategy for product exposure and localized marketing aims to actively promote the brand and its offerings to American consumers.

The entry into Target serves not only to boost brand recognition but also to accelerate additional distribution network expansions within the U.S. AMUSE intends to leverage its partnership with Target as a key reference for expanding local distribution networks, positioning its online and offline operations as a core axis of global growth.

Utilizing global business expertise gained from entering 30 countries, AMUSE aims to deliver localized products and brand experiences tailored to American consumer preferences and trends, striving to evolve into a leading global representative of K-beauty.

In addition to offline expansion, AMUSE is ramping up its localization marketing efforts. It will participate in a press and creator invitation event at the LA Target flagship store on September 25-26, followed by a VIP influencer event in New York in mid-October. Further localized promotions are planned in anticipation of Black Friday and the year-end holiday season.

An AMUSE spokesperson commented, “The U.S. represents a key market where K-beauty’s growth potential is most evident and is essential for becoming a global beauty brand. As we secure extensive consumer touchpoints across the U.S., we will actively communicate AMUSE’s brand DNA and make the U.S. a core growth hub for our global operations.”
