IMINE is diversifying its product portfolio beyond its mainstays—hydrogel masks and basic skincare—to include haircare as a new growth engine. This strategy aims to respond to various product development demands from clients by expanding its research and development (R&D) capabilities into haircare and makeup, leveraging existing expertise in skincare.
IMINE operates haircare as a separate project within its labs, broadening its research scope from functional products to unique formulations. Key focus areas include developing hair amplifiers and functional shampoos aimed at alleviating hair loss symptoms. The company is enhancing product quality through clinical validation, formula improvements, internal evaluations, and stability assessments.
In product diversification, IMINE plans to introduce gel-formulated hair packs, shampoos utilizing naturally-derived surfactants, PEG-free formulations, and vegan-concept haircare products. This strategy aims to establish a differentiated portfolio encompassing functional efficacy, raw materials, formulations, and user experience.
In addition to haircare, IMINE is extending its formulation and product development capabilities from skincare into the makeup sector. This approach is significant as the boundaries between skincare and color cosmetics are blurring, leading to a focus on developing hybrid formulations that combine both attributes.
In the sun care category, IMINE plans to segment its portfolio based on formulation and UV protection methods, gradually introducing products tailored for both domestic and international markets. Short-term plans include sunscreen and sun serums with SPF 50+ PA++++, organic UV-filter based sun jellies, and mineral sunscreen products, promoting a variety of formulation options.
Long-term, IMINE intends to design sunscreens that reflect the characteristics of the U.S. market, ensuring compliance with FDA regulations by combining suitable active ingredients to support global customer needs. Additionally, the R&D scope will expand to include body care, with new products such as capsule lotions, bubble serums, and jelly mists, each differentiated from existing products. Development of functional materials such as PDRN, exosomes, and peptides will also be pursued to broaden the range of proposals available for clients.
Through these initiatives, IMINE aims to enhance its competitiveness as an ODM that transcends specific product categories, offering a broad range of product development capabilities to meet customer planning and development needs.
A company representative stated, "We are expanding our development scope into various product lines including haircare, building on the R&D capabilities accumulated in our existing hydrogel mask and basic skincare fields. We will continuously broaden our R&D focus to enhance product development competitiveness in terms of functionality, formulation, and materials to meet client demands effectively."
