CJ Olive Young, referred to as Olive Young, is set to enhance its omnichannel shopping experience by launching a mobile skin diagnosis service that previously was available only in-store. This initiative aims to bring the interactive beauty experience directly to customers’ smartphones.

Announced on the 15th, the mobile skin diagnosis allows customers to easily assess their skin condition and receive personalized skincare recommendations via the Olive Young app. This service mirrors the existing in-store experience known as 'Skin Scan,' which uses dedicated equipment to photograph and analyze skin, providing tailored product suggestions based on the results.

With the mobile skin diagnosis, customers can now conveniently check their skin condition anytime and anywhere without needing to visit a store. One of the service's advantages is the ability to rescan skin as needed, making it easier to monitor changes over time. The skin's condition can fluctuate due to seasonal variations, lifestyle habits, and the cosmetics used, allowing for easier access to products that meet the newly assessed skin needs.

Olive Young initially implemented the 'Skin Scan' service in major stores, starting with Starfield Goyang Town in April 2024. By the end of the previous year, the service was integrated with the Olive Young app, allowing customers to access diagnostic results and personalized routines that were previously available only through dedicated equipment. This latest mobile feature encourages consistent skin management beyond a one-time experience.

Utilizing the mobile skin diagnosis is straightforward. Customers complete a brief electronic questionnaire assessing their skin state and can then either take a current photograph or select an existing one. An AI then analyzes the skin, providing detailed results on skin type, pores, pigmentation, moisture levels, oiliness, and wrinkles.

The analysis also includes advisory information in a Q&A format regarding the causes of skin concerns and product recommendations categorized by needs. Customized skincare routines ranging from cleansing to skincare to sun care will also be suggested. The mobile skin diagnosis feature can be accessed by clicking the 'Skin Scan' icon located on the main screen and the 'Olive Young Store' tab within the app.

To celebrate the launch, Olive Young is offering various promotions until the 30th, including discounts on skincare products for users who complete the mobile skin diagnosis. Additionally, registering for re-diagnosis alerts will provide extra Olive points. Major Olive Young stores will display the mobile skin diagnosis interface, offering a skincare trial kit for those who purchase over 30,000 KRW on a first-come, first-served basis.

Olive Young plans to continuously enhance related functionalities to enable customers to perform more detailed self-management tailored to their skin conditions and habits. Upcoming features include a 'Skin Change Report' for tracking skin changes visually, product recommendations reflecting typical skincare routines, and personal color diagnostics, with these updates expected to roll out sequentially within the year.

A representative from Olive Young stated, "Customers can now consistently monitor their skin changes via mobile in their daily lives and visit our stores when in-depth diagnoses are required, facilitating a cross-channel beauty experience that meets situational needs. We will continue to leverage our strengths in both online and offline channels to offer a differentiated omnichannel shopping experience." In an effort to systematize the diagnostic services that are traditionally offered in-store and enhance professionalism, Olive Young has recently completed trademark registration for 'Skin Scan.'

Currently offering 1:1 consultations and self-measurement services with professional beauty consultants, Olive Young aims to continually expand its diagnostic offerings. The self-assessment service lineup is being further refined to specialize in 'Skin Scan,' 'Face (facial skin),' 'Scalp,' and 'Color Fit (personal color),' thereby broadening custom beauty consulting services in both online and offline arenas.
