UCL, a specialized cosmetics ODM and OEM company, has released its ‘2027 Skincare Trend Book’ to strengthen tailored support for its clients amidst the rapidly changing beauty market.

The trend book illustrates an evolution in the skincare market, moving beyond mere efficacy competition to designing solutions and experiences that align with consumers' skin conditions and usage contexts.

Key trends identified for 2027 include Clinic-Inspired Derm Recovery, Metabolic Skin Condition, and Sensorial Ritual Care. The first trend, Clinic-Inspired Derm Recovery, reflects a shift where professional clinic care becomes part of everyday skincare, influenced by the rise of dermatological treatments and home beauty devices. Consumer demand has become increasingly segmented, covering everything from pre-treatment skin conditioning to post-treatment soothing and barrier care, often combined with home beauty devices.

In this context, UCL suggests products such as ‘B5 Derm Recovery Aqua Gel’ for calming sensitive skin and ‘PDLLA Firming Booster Cream’ for elasticity and volume care. Both products utilize panthenol (5%) and PDLLA, extending familiar clinical care concepts into daily home routines.

The second trend, Metabolic Skin Condition, takes a comprehensive approach to skin aging, connecting it not just to external changes but also to various factors like cellular energy, stress, sleep, and weight fluctuations. UCL has segmented this trend into Cellular Longevity, Neuro-Wellness, and GLP-1 Beauty, predicting that the longevity concept for maintaining healthy skin will become increasingly important.

Aligned with the themes of longevity and neuro wellness, UCL introduces ‘Cellular Energy Crystal Serum’ based on NAD and ‘Vitamin K Neuro Eye Gel-Cream’ targeting fatigue around the eyes.

The final trend, Sensorial Ritual Care, expands the definition of product effectiveness by emphasizing the sensory experience during application—visual, tactile, and overall engagement. Products designed with gel, bubble, or slush formats that stimulate the senses—alongside multifunctional formats like pads and cleansing packs—are highlighted.

UCL proposes ‘Blue Pore Slush Cleanser,’ which gently manages pore waste and dead skin using konjac and silica, as well as ‘Bubble Pop Pack Cleanser,’ which generates bubbles upon contact with skin. The company also emphasizes a sensory skincare strategy that connects product formulations to their origins, unique textures, colors, and regional stories.

A UCL representative noted, “In 2027, skincare will move beyond highlighting single ingredients or functions. It will become crucial to finely read consumers' skin conditions and usage contexts and design product experiences accordingly.” The representative added that UCL will continue to support its clients in preparing for new market opportunities through differentiated formulations and tangible products.
