Lush Korea (CEO Woo Mi-ryeong) will host the solo exhibition 'ARTIFICIAL BLOSSOM' by contemporary artist Jeon Byung-sam at 'Lush Village', a cultural arts space located in Yangpyeong's Dumulmeori, from September 30 to October 18.
'ARTIFICIAL BLOSSOM' is an exhibition that extends data derived from nature in Yangpyeong into artistic works, allowing visitors to experience new forms of contemporary art against the backdrop of Dumulmeori's natural beauty.
The exhibition features the creation of AI-generated images based on plant data collected from various locations in Yangpyeong, including Dumulmeori, Semiwon, and Yongmunsan, manifested through photography and sculptural works.
Jeon Byung-sam, a contemporary artist known for integrating sculpture with objects and images, continues to blend art and technology in his work. He has participated in exhibitions and collaborative projects at venues like UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, and Lush Korea aligns with Jeon’s innovative interpretations of nature, which resonate with the mission of 'Lush Village' to connect art and nature.
The exhibition includes a total of 20 new works, comprising 17 pieces from the 'BLOSSOM' series and 3 digital artworks, illustrating the process of transforming nature-derived data into various forms of artistic expression through AI.
'Lush Village' serves as a multifaceted cultural space that intertwines nature, art, people, and local community in Yangpyeong. Lush Korea continues to support local artists and various exhibitions and cultural programs, with plans to sustain a diverse array of art events within natural settings.
In addition to Jeon's exhibition, the ongoing exhibitions of Kim Eun-na's 'Neighbors of the Forest' and Heo Yoon-sun's 'Messages from the Fields' will also be extended during this period. Kim Eun-na's work captures the flora and fauna encountered in forests through printmaking, drawing, and webtoons, while Heo Yoon-sun's exhibition reflects moments of the seasons shared with fields, neighbors, and children through painting and drawing.
