The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) has organized the 'K-Beauty Expo Korea' in conjunction with the **K-Beauty Global Export Consultation Conference**. This event highlights the increasing global demand for Korean cosmetics, featuring participation from 220 companies across 60 countries keen to import these products.
From January to September of the current year, cosmetic export revenue reached 11.1 billion USD, marking a 31.1% increase compared to the previous year. This puts the nation on track to achieve its annual export target of 11.4 billion USD. Remarkably, Korea has ascended to become the world's second-largest exporter of cosmetics, trailing only France, and holds the number one position in primary markets such as the U.S., Japan, and Russia.
Korean cosmetics have gained popularity not only in Asia but also in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America, playing a pivotal role in diversifying export markets while fostering a positive cycle in cultural and industrial exports.
Taking place from October 15 for three days at KINTEX, the **2026 K-Beauty Expo Korea** will see the export consultation meetings extend for two days. Reflecting the surging global interest in Korean cosmetics, this is the largest participation ever, showcasing over 220 overseas buyers from 60 different countries.
The conference will facilitate one-on-one export consultations based on advance materials exchanged between domestic companies and overseas buyers. It will support efforts to enter into major content and online sales channels in China, as well as the involvement of overseas influencers in live commerce activities.
Furthermore, on-site support will be bolstered to assist local small enterprises in venturing abroad and addressing export challenges. Six small businesses from Gyeonggi Province will be selected to receive focused support through the **Gyeonggi-do Sustainable Management Exhibition Marketing Support Program**, including consultation on buyer engagement and distribution networks.
Han Seok-woo, head of KOTRA’s Northern Gyeonggi Support Office, noted that global buyers are increasingly recognizing the reliability of Korean cosmetics, their rapid product development capabilities, and sophisticated marketing techniques. He added, 'We will make every effort to continue supporting small and regional businesses to increase their presence in the international market.'
