Chungcheongbuk-do and Cheongju City actively promoted the 2026 Osong Cosmetics Beauty Expo from August 21 to 22, during the Summer Horror Festival held at Cheongju Central Park and the Chirang-gwan area.
Utilizing the Expo promotional booth in C-Square, a permanent facility at Chirang-gwan, the campaign featured unique character cosplay and pre-registration events, aimed at attracting visitors.
The local government has already conducted promotions at 13 domestic and international exhibitions, including Cosmetic Inside Korea and Cosme Tokyo, and has participated in regional festivals like the Cheongnamdae Yeongchun Festival. This experience provided credibility and continuity to their promotional efforts at the festival.
Future promotional activities are planned at major regional festivals such as the Cheonan K-Culture Expo (September 2-6), Cheongwon Life Festival (October 2-11), and Sejong Hangeul Festival (October 9-11).
Jang Woo-sung, Director of the Bio-Food and Pharmaceutical Bureau, emphasized that the Osong Cosmetics Beauty Expo is a B2B-centric event that supports K-beauty companies' overseas expansion and export channel growth. He also noted that various experiential programs and cultural events will be prepared for local residents to enjoy. Furthermore, he stated, “Through ongoing promotions, we aim to raise awareness of the expo's value and brand, facilitating the successful hosting of the main event in October.”
The 2026 Osong Cosmetics Beauty Expo is scheduled to take place from October 22 to 24 at Cheongju Osco, with 245 companies applying for a total of 334 booths, surpassing their target of 240 companies in the recruitment sector.
Last year's expo saw a total of 1,617 consultations worth 336.4 billion won in export deals, resulting in 1,545 contracts and initiatives valued at 141.4 billion won. This high contract conversion rate demonstrates the event's effective economic impact.
